John Frieda – Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Mask

Hello beauties,

As you may have noticed, I have a lot of white hair . I confess that I opted for the simple option that is to do highlights (a lot of them, really). If you didn’t read my post about it, then check it here.

Right after doing my highlights I always feel my hair a little bit drier (mostly the ends)and after some weeks I like to use a shampoo with a blue/violet pigment, to maintain the ash shade and don’t obtain a not-so-mellow yellow shade. Fortunaltly, my hairdresser always accomplish the tone that I like, so I only need to use that type of shampoo once per month. I’m mentioning this because this type of shampoo is great to keep the color but awfull to dry hair.

But on one of my many visits to Sephora, I saw the John Frieda products on a shelf. They have a lot of shampoos, conditioners, masks and styling products. Impulsively I bought the Blonde Sheer Mask.

I was using the blonde range by Joico and I loved it!! But it was almost over and I didn’t want to spend more 50€. I wanted to find something a little more affordable.

The blonde sheer mask by John Frieda comes in a jar with 250mL and it cost 10€. It’s indicated for people with blonde, bleached hair or with highlights.

Honestly when I came home I googled the blond line of care and I read so many bad reviews about the shampoo/conditioner that I was a little bit afraid to use the mask.

But I decided to use it with no expectations and let me tell you: I love it! It leaves my hair gorgeous, moisturized and the color is on point. Do I noticed a lighter shade? No, I don’t. If you want your highlights really light then you should use the blue/violet shampoo/conditioner but if you want to maintain the blonde color without the yellow-ish tone then this is great.

What I love the most is that I imediatly feel my hair smoother and a big difference when I’m drying it. I feel less frizz and more control. When I use my babyliss, it only take me 10/15 minutes to straight my entire hair (it used to take 30 minutes).

There’s only one thing I don’t love about this product: the ‘fragance’. It’s like lemon but more chemical than natural.

The product has chamomile which is well know for its hair lightning capacity, so I will start to check my roots to see if this has some kind o effect on my natural hair.

If you want check the list of ingredients:

aqua, cetearyl alcohol, behentrimonium chloride, dimethicone, cetyl esters, dipropylene glycol, phenyl trimethicone, isopropyl palmite, parfum, benzoic acid, propylene glycol, quaternium-80, panthenol, dimethicone peg-8 meadowfoamate, disodium EDTA, stearoxypropyl dimethylamine, C14-28 isoalkyl acid, glycine, glycerin, malic acid, bis-methoxypropylamido isodocosane, C14-28 alkyl acid, stearyl alcohol, hydrolyzed keratin, cl 19140, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, vitis vinífera juice extract, citrus medica limonum peel extract, chamomilla recutita flower extract, helianthus annus seed extract, alcohol, PEG-40 hydogenated castor oil, tocoferol, vitis vinífera seed extract, limonene, butylphenyl methylpropional, linalool, hexyl cinnamal.

John Frieda has a purple shampoo that I really like. Bedhead has a great one too. I find it sooo hard to keep my brassy tones away!

I don’t know the purple shampoo by John frieda but I will definetly check it out! Thank you. This mask is good to maintain a beautiful blonde but if you want a ash tone then the best (for me) is the Joico shampoo! X

Ooo thanks for the recommendation! I’ve tried their Kpak conditioner which I love. It’s sooo moisturizing! 💗

Can you believe that the Kpak conditioner makes my hair even more dry? It’s so weird. Even my hairdresser don’t use it on my hair because she also noticed that!

Your not the first to say that! I’ve heard it gets mixed reviews!
