L’Oréal X Balmain | Color Riche Lipsticks

Hello beauties,

How was your Christmas? Mine was good, around my family with a lot of good movies and great food and drinks.

I can not believe that 2017 is over, it passed in a blink of the eye. Is it just my impression or are you feeling the same?

The BeautyWorkers blog was a dream project that started almost in the middle of 2017 and has been a pleasure, so for it, thank you so much for being here on this road with us.

But let start with why you came here, right! Let’s talk about the Balmain X L’Oréal lipstick collaboration.

It was hard to put my hands on these lipsticks, because they just appeared in Portugal much later than in other countries and unfortunately, we still don’t have every shades available. There are some colors like Fever that looks gorgeous and I want to try.

But with some patience, I found the lipsticks and I bought almost every single shade that its available in Portugal. I think, and correct me if I’m wrong, that I just didn’t buy one color that is a dark purple. Do you know the name of it?

The packaging

When you look at the lipsticks, you immediately think Balmain. It has their signature look.

They come in three different color packaging: blue, black and green.

They called the three packs tribes:
– The Glamazon tribe, that have the green color, was named after the Amazon jungle. The colors on these lipsticks are inspiring in the fierceness and sensuality.
– The Couture tribe, that have the black color, was named after the Balmain origin in the Paris couture. The colors on these lipsticks are inspiring in the Glamour.
– The Rock Tribe, that have the blue color, was named after the irreverence of Balmain. The colors on these lipsticks are inspiring in the rebellion, in breaking the rules and in being true to yourself.

All the tribes come in a type of marble package with the L’Oréal logo on the front and the Balmain on the side. They just close in a way so the L’Oréal logo is always at the front.

Now let’s talk about the lipsticks that I own.
I have five Balmain X  L’Oréal lipsticks. They all have the same scent, that I can’t really describe but when you smell it, you see that’s unique to these lipsticks.

From the Rock tribe, I just have one, that is Power. This lipstick is a nude dark brown, that is good for who wants, like the name says, a rock look.

From the Glamazon tribe, I have two lipsticks.

I have Urban Safari. At the beginning I didn’t like how it looked on me, but now I love. This is the real nude color and is perfect for a no lip look.

The second lipstick that I have from the Glamazon tribe, is my favorite from the five and its Glamazone. I love this color, is a browny nude, but less brown than Power. It’s the mixture of power and urban safari. I love this lipstick, because for my skin tone, the brown nudes are the most suitable, so is perfect for me.

Then from the couture tribe, that is my favorite package, maybe because I love the color black, I have two lipsticks.

The first is Domination and its a red. Is not just a red, its the Red because is that classic color that suits all skin types. With this one, my advise it to use a lip pencil before the application – I’m just warning you!

The second from the couture tribe is Liberation. This has a purple shade and I kinda regret buying this lipstick because its a color that I’m not used to and don’t suit me, at all. That is why I was thinking on selling it on my Depop store. Don’t get me wrong, its a beautiful color, but it doesn’t suit my work life. But I’m going to try and use it on others occasions.

What is your favorite lipstick from the L’Oréal X Balmain collaboration?

Yes, it’s great collaboration! And the lipsticks are great too. The quality is higher than a normal L’óreal lipstick. the nude color is beautiful, a little bit light but if you like them light then you will love it. The purple is pretty but not very pratical. thank you X

I do love the packaging and I’m a sucker for that.

I love nude lipsticks and really love the look of power too. I’m a lover of brown shades as well.

The price is what has put me off buying anything from this collection. It’s only shy of about three pounds of being the same as a Mac lipstick and quite shocks me for it being a drugstore brand, ya know.

I can’t quite decide whether to part with some money and give the collection a go.

    Love the post btw.

I think that if you have the chance, buy one and try. See if you like the formula. I understand what you say about L’óreal being a drugstore brand but we know the moment they announced a collaboration with Balmain, the price of the products would be higher. unfortunatly, sometimes we pay the brand. but in this case the lipsticks are really good.
