Hello beauties,
Let’s have a serious talk for 5 minutes, shall we?
I’ve been for so many time trying to write a post about fuller lips. In the past, we talked about chapped lips and how to avoid it, but we never talked about the big elephant in the room: the fact that today fuller lips have a major paper in some lives.
Why? Maybe because there’s the stereotype that big lips mean more beautiful?! Maybe because when we check a video on youtube, almost every beauty youtuber has fuller lips?! Maybe because the society has it defined?! I think there’s a lot of reasons.
My mother has very tinny lips, so much, that is a little bit difficult to apply lipsticks on them. But she never cared, and she still likes to use it. My sister has bigger, fuller lips. They’re gorgeous, I’m a little bit envious (I admit). I consider my lips normal, I would like my top lip to be a little bit fuller but I don’t mind how it is. I really don’t.
Personally, for now (because we should never say never) I don’t see myself doing any type of surgery or even stick a needle on my lips (I hate needles…bah).
I have some glosses and lip pencils that when applied give the impression of fuller lips. There are a few techniques that can be used just with a lip pencil and a good hand that will give you bigger lips. But honestly, I’m not good at it because I never felt the necessity to practice.
Last year I bought the Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme. I bought it with no expectations and only because I wanted to try it for curiosity.
In the box we can read:
‘Lip Injection Extreme’s breakthrough formula delivers both immediate and long-term plumping with scientifically-proven, advanced lip-volumizing technologies. Apply day and night to naturally and dramatically hydrate, nourish and increase lip volume!’
According to the consumer study results:
- 97% said Delivers Instant Results
- 97% said Lips feel moisturized
- 93% said Lips look fuller and more plum
And on a side note, we can read that:
You may experience a slightly intense tingle that can last up to 5-10 minutes. Apply only within the perimeter of lips. if applied to the skin, a temporary redness may occur. If any discomfort is present, remove and discontinue use. Keep away from children.
Well, after reading this, you may be scared for life. And let me tell you, ladies…it tingles. It tingles a lot when you apply the product on your lips, maybe for some 5-7 minutes. And be careful with the perimeter of the lips, if you step the line, the skin will turn a little bit red (but not too much and 5 minutes is the maxim). My advice is that for the first time, don’t apply too much. Just a little bit. See if you can endure the tingle and then apply a little bit more.
The product looks like a gloss, the lips shine like you have a gloss and you can feel some moisture. But don’t use it as a moisturizer, because it is not enough (not even close). What I want to say is that (like what happens with some glosses, this one won’t make your lips drier).
Do I see differences? Yes, I do. Check the photos, if you don’t believe it. The lips look fuller and reddish. This happens because this gloss increase the micro-circulation of the lips, making them look fuller and with more color (more blood = more color).
Before1 min. after 5 min. after After taking off
I don’t like the feeling of tingle on my lips so I don’t reach for this product often but when I want fuller lips I know that I can count on it.
xoxo
