Too Faced launched a few months ago a new concealer, the Born this way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculping Concealer (what a big name, uff!). This new concealer joins the Born this way family that already has a concealer, a Foundation, and a setting powder.
You probably already heard or tried one or several products of this line. For example, I’m a fan of the old concealer (here).
But this one? This is one hundred percent better, why?
In the back packaging, we can read that this concealer is infused with:
- Coconut Water : to delicstely replenish skins moisture levels.
- Alpine Rose: to brightten skins appearance and promote elasticity.
- Hyaluronic Acid: for a smoother, more youthful looking appearance.
Hydrating, long-wearing, photo friendly and non-comedogenic.
‘Cover, contour, highlight and retouch with this super perfecting, natural finish concaler/makeup hybrid. The ultimate multi-use formula for a modern and hydrated photo-ready complexion’.
The new concealer, as the name says, has a phenomenal coverage. Much better than the old one. This concealer covers the most of my dark circles, and that’s a hard job! The old one covers a little but nothing like the new.
With the Born This Way Super Coverage in ‘Vanilla’ (diferent lights)
With the ‘Old’ Born this Way in ‘Light Beige’
I was a little afraid that I wouldn’t like the new formula, because more coverage means a heavier formula and in theory that can make a ‘heavier look’ and the under eyes drier but surprisingly this is not the case. I think that this new formula (Super Coverage) besides having more coverage leaves the skin simply smooth and not dry at all.
The old formula sometimes left my skin a little dry, especially on the forehead or nose and even with some foundations.
The Super Coverage also has a blurring effect that is great.
It’s available in a good range and you can choose between 20 shades (for now, I belive they will add more shades in future).
The Super Coverage has also the advantage of being able to be used for three purposes: to correct, illuminate and as a contour. So the ideal would be to have one a tone below our skin tone to illuminate, our tone to correct and two darker tones to contour.
But let’s face it, the price is high! $30 for each one, but in Too Faced defense, the package brings 15ml of product, which is a Lot of product (I think there’s no other concealer with so much product on the market).
The packaging is beautiful, it looks like the Foundation packaging (basically the same but smaller). It also has a Diamond doe-foot applicator, with a point that allows precision and a flat surface to large areas.
I didn’t know what to expect from this product and I also had some fears, so I bought my exact summer skin color (Vanilla). Although it says that Vanilla is for fair with neutral undertones, I thinks this color has more yellow undertones that I was expecting.
I’ve been using it almost every day, with or without foundation. On the days that I don’t want to use foundation, I apply this concealer under my eyes, chin, mouth lines and it’s enough to correct and give me that ‘perfect skin’ look. A little goes a log way.
I will definitely buy another one with a lighter shade, to illuminate and for my winter skin color. I didn’t try it to contour because I like to use powdered products for that effect.
My verdict is that the new Born This way Super coverage Multi-Use Sculping Concealer is definitely my favorite concealer at the moment and if I needed to choose between the new and the old, I wouldn’t blink at choosing the new one! I think that if you give it a chance it would seep the floor for you!
What do you prefer, the new or the old version of the Born this Way Concealer?
