The Body Shop | British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask – Good for combination skin??

Hello beauties,

A few weeks ago I told you about my trip to the body shop store. A nice employee offered me two samples of two different masks. One of these was the Tree Skin Clearing Clay Mask (if you did not read the review, you can do it here).

Today I’m reviewing the other sample – the British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask from the Body Shop’s Superfood face range. This mask is designed to plump, smooth and re-hydrate the skin.

The British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask has a gel texture is specially designed for thirsty skin that needs to be re-plumbed.

Inspired by the European bathing rituals, this mask promises a visibly smooth skin with a youthful dewy appearance.

Key ingredients:
  • Real Rose Petals
  • Essence of hand-picked roses from Britain: great for skin’s water reserves.
  • Rosehip Oil from Chile: to tone the skin.
  • Organic Community Trade aloe vera from Mexico: to calm the skin.

How to use

After removing makeup and clearing the skin, use a mask brush to smooth an even layer of the British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask to the face avoiding eye and lip area. Apply to neck and décolleté if desired. leave for 5-10 minutes (you can leave it more time if you want) then rinse off with warm water and a washcloth. Use 2 to 3 times per week or daily if desired.

Once you open the jar (in this case, the sample jar), you feel the rose scent. When you apply it, the scent starts strong but after a couple minutes, it fades.

This translucent mask contains little bits of Rosen petals and has a sticky gel texture, making it really easy to apply.

I prefer applying it with a brush instead of my fingers because it lasts more time and there’s no waste of product.

As the mask sits on the skin, you start to feel it being absorbed into the skin. In the end, it leaves a thin layer that remains on the skin until you rinse it off. unlike the Tree Skin Clearing Clay Mask that sometimes is a headache to remove (unless you use a washcloth), once it takes time to remove this, it only takes a second to do the job and you can use a washcloth but you definitely don’t need it.

Take in consideration that this is not one of those moisturizing masks that you can leave on for the entire night – you need to rinse it off, some people see that as a disadvantage but I don’t mind.

Final thoughts

Overall I think this is a great mask for combination skin (and normal/dry skin because you only just need to adjust the time that you leave the mask on the skin) because it leaves my skin smooth, soft, plumped and not oily!!

You just need to hear your skin, sometimes skin can be oilier because it’s dehydrated and for that, this mask is perfect – it delivers the right amount of hydration.

But if you have super oily skin, then I advise you to go to a Body Shop store and ask for a sample.

My secret to balancing my combination skin is to use Clay masks that will absorb the oil but also hydration masks because I need to balance my hydration levels.

I think this can become one of my favorite wintertime masks.

What’s your favorite moisturizing mask? Tell me.
