By now you probably already noticed that we love the brand bodhi & birch. This is an England luxury skincare brand that has dreamy products! This is one of those brands that always surprises me every time I try a product from them, the quality is outstanding as much as the packaging!
This year bodhi & birch launched a new collection – the Superfoods Series – that took about three years to formulate & launch! Wow
This collection has five products and its very complete because it has every product that you need for a complete routine- a Cleansing balm (Avo Bao Cleansing Balm and Tomato Seed Cleansing Oil), Toner (Lemon water), Exfoliant/Mask (Renshen Root) and a Serum (Super 25). Can I give the idea of a night cream? (Maybe for the next collection, what you think?)
I read that the Lemon Water Hydrosol Tonic was one of the products that were a little difficult to formulate because of the difficulty of ingredients sourcing.
This Tonic is great to use during the day to refresh and hydrate the skin or as a toner, after cleansing, to prepare the skin for the rest of the routine products.
I like how smooth my skin is after applying this product, and I didn’t notice any sensitivity on my skin (like some products with lemon tends to).
This Tonic is infused with hyaluronic acid and pea peptide to lock in moisture and increase skin tone and elasticity. Pomegranate regulates and strengthens skin cells whilst Cucumber cools and soothes. Contains a clear quartz crystal sphere to charge and vibrate the senses.
I can’t figure what’s the scent of this product, sometimes I can sense the lemon but on other times I can’t feel what this smells. I like the mist of this product, it’s the right amount of product and it’s really pleasant how this is absorbed on the skin.
FYI, Hydrosols are naturally antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal to help cleanse and fortify skin.
The Renshen Root Exfoliant & Mask is a very versatile product and probably my favorite (even though it’s in a form that I normally don’t favor). This is an exfoliant product that can also be used as a mask, depending on which product you add to it.
You can use it with water, every product from the superfoods series, honey or even yogurt. For what I see, each ingredient brings a slightly different effect to the mask.
As an exfoliant, I tried it with water and with the Lemon Water Tonic. The lemon Tonic made it a little rash for my skin but with water is perfect (and my favorite way to use it).
Add a tablespoon of the product with just a little bit of water and then apply it on your skin (don’t massage it for more than a minute), and then proceed to the rest of your routine.
This product is perfect to balance oily skin, brightening and smoothing the skin.
As a mask, I tried it with honey. I like honey (a lot) and masks with honey normally are my cup of tea. I like the effect this gave to my skin. It was difficult to take it off (the honey dried very quickly) but I did feel my skin smoother and glowing.
You should apply and wait 10 minutes before rinse.
Beyond quality, the fact that the Superfood series are suitable for vegans and not tested on animals are amazing! The thing that always surprises me with this brand is the ingredients, check the list of the Renshen Root mask/exfoliant.
Ingredients: Montmorillonite (French Green Clay), Kaolinite (Kaolin Clay), Panax Ginseng (Ginseng) Root Powder, Radix Astragali (Astragalus) Root Powder, Dioscorea Villosa (Wild Yam) Powder, Uncaria Tomentosa (Cat’s Claw Vine) Powder, Rosa Rubiginosa (Rosehip) Powder, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Liquorice) Root Powder, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Skin Powder, Ananas Comosus (Pineapple) Fruit Powder, Musa Acuminata (Banana) Fruit Powder, Theobroma Cacao (Raw Cacao) Powder, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Powder, Zeolite Clay, Taraxacum Officinale (Dandelion) Root Powder, Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla) Bean, Nahcolite (Sodium Bicarbonate)
If you need more reasons to give a chance to this brand then let me tell you that recently was launched a Bamboo Cotton Flannel, Cleansing Cloth, Masking brush and an alchemy bowl (that are great for preparing your masks)!
