Put your hand in the air if you never bought a product because of a beauty youtube opinion. I did, like fifty percent of the times and the product that I will talk about today is a good example (well, sort off).
Since last year that I had my eye on the new Clarins SOS Primers, I never bought one because I never knew which one I would invest my money.
Lately, I’ve been interested in how to achieve that Foundation/blurring skin look, without the use of Foundation, and that was where this primer entered.
After some research on the internet, and then on youtube I came across some videos of @rachhloves where she talks how good the 02 Peach Primer is and when she uses it on camera, her skin looks instantly blurred.
So, I bought it.
But let me do a small introduction. There are available six different primers, each one is indicated for different concerns.
- 00 Universal Light: Boosts Radiance
- 01 Rose: Minimizes signs of fadigue
- 02 Peach: Perfects uneven skin tone
- 03 Coral: Visibly reduces dark spots
- 04 Green: Reduces redness
- 05 Lavender: Neutralizes sallowness
‘Formulated with Clarins’ High Lumitech Complex – SOS Primer visibly corrects, boosts radiance and blurs imperfections with mother-of-pearl and 3D light pigments’.
These primers can be used alone, or as a make-up base (before your Foundation), it also can be used as a targeted corrector (on certain areas). You can use more than one primer (a different shade depending the area and the concern).
WHAT DOES CLARINS SOS PRIMERS DO?
- Boosts radiance
- Makes your Foundation last longer
- Hydrates for 24 hours (because of Organic Sea Lily Extract)
- Helps protect skin from environmental aggressors
OPINION 02 Peach
First, let’s talk about how the packaging is super convenient. Each primer comes in a pump tube, which means quick, easy and mess-free application.
Then, I also love the fact that Clarins makeup line is not only a makeup line but it also contain skincare benefits. For example, Clarins’ Anti-Pollution Complex helps protect skin from environmental aggressors.
I have combo/oily skin and for this reason, I always worry if I will end with my skin shining like a disco ball after a couple of hours, it’s always important to see if the product is indicated for my skin type. Well, this primer is oil-free and has a lightweight texture that I love! And after a couple of hours, I don’t feel my skin abnormally oilier.
I bought this product mainly because I was looking for a product that would allow me to get an even skin tone without having to apply foundation. Well, I’m glad to write that I found it. Overall my skin is not at bad shape and because of that I think this is going to be my best friend on days when I do not want to use foundation or lots of make-up.
It’s also good to use before foundation or when I want that flawless look. I add this to the foundation and apply the two together (it improves the coverage and it will last a lot more time).
Those with acne scarring and pigmentation on their skin will benefit from using this primer (02 peach) because of its brightening apricot shade that helps counteract any violet tones (like dark circles or purple veins). I also noticed a big difference in the texture of my skin after applying this primer.
I really can’t say anything bad about this primer. I always like to give you the good and the bad points of a product, but sorry, this one for me is just too good…maybe, and it’s a big maybe the only con is the price. I say maybe because the price is very close to other brand´s primers (a little less expensive, I may add).
Do this perform a Miracle? No, it doesn’t. But it helps and you see diferences on the skin. Don’t expect that this will give you the coverage of a foundation because it won’t (after all, this is a primer). But think of it like a light bb-cream that helps blur some of the pores and even skin tone.
Each primer will cost you 27£ (UK), 35€ (Portugal) and $37 (USA).
Let me know in the comments if you have tried this primer and what are your thoughts about it.
