If you read our last post (here) then you know about the new Sephora skincare launches. I have to admit that I was very curious and I went to a Sephora store to see with my eyes the new (and the not so new) products.
I have to be honest and say that Sephora made me believe for a second that every product was new but that’s not the reality. Some products are indeed new but others just had a packaging reformulation, so the entire line would match.
Speaking about packaging, I have to say that I’m pretty happy with it – 61% of the plastic in the tubes are made from sugar cane residuals and the cardboard comes from sustainably managed forests and is printed with vegetable ink.
I ended up buying the Blackhead Peel-off Mask. This is a product-specific to unclog and purify the skin that contains 89% of ingredients from natural origin and 11% mainly for product texture and stability.
- Natural glycolic acid from sugar cane. Known for exfoliating and smooth skin.
- Natural Aloe Vera is known to soothe skin.
- -17% reduced blackheads after 1st use
- 83% found their skin smoother and purified after the 1st use.
HOW TO USE:
Twice a week, apply an even layer over T-zone avoiding the eye area. Let dry 15 minutes and peel off the mask. If necessary, wipe away any residue with damp cotton wool.
What I think about it…
I’ll start with what I didn’t like: the smell of alcohol. Probably because the second and third ingredient is Alcohol Denat and Polyvinyl Alcohol. As soon as I put a little product on my nose, my eyes started to water, so my advice is to apply this mask in a well-ventilated place and avoid the eye area.
Now what I liked was the fact that it is easy to use a mask. It did not remove all the blackheads from my nose (I always had a lot of them) but I noticed a difference when I saw the skin in the mirror. The area became smoother, brighter and decreased the appearance of pores.
It is always a great satisfaction when I use bands for the blackheads and in the end, I can understand perfectly the blackheads that have been removed in the band, this does not happen here, because although it is very easy to remove, what is left is a rubber that comes together. It’s really satisfying to take off and the best is that it doesn’t leave almost any residue.
Another point in favor is that while it is drying, this mask does not tighten the skin, which makes me sometimes forget that I’m using it.
If you are looking for a mask that is 100% effective on first use and completely removes all blackheads, then this is not for you. But if you are looking for a gentle mask that in the first use you see some difference then this is for you.
I am very excited to use it again and see what long term results I will get.
