Things to do at home: Read a motivation/mindfulness book

Hello beauties,

Here we are again to help you decide what to do at home, this time what do you think about read a book that will help you with the state of mind?

This post came in the right time, when we all are dealing with barbaric scenes that happened that shouldn’t exist in this century, and yes, we are talking about racism. We are all the same, the color of our skin shouldn’t matter. If you are confused and want to know more about this topic I suggest you to read the book “Between the world and me”.

Wook.pt - Between The World And Me

I am currently reading this book for suggestion of @carodaur and it’s giving me such a lesson. I was so blind in relation of this topic. I’m not going to spoil the book, but I’m learning so much with this book. It’s such an “open eyes”. I truly suggest you too read to be more aware that what’s going on it’s not new and we all should try to change.

Now let’s talk about Motivation books and books about the Law of attraction. First of all this type of books are not for everyone. You need to read them in the right time, and be in the right type of opening mind to understand the meaning of the words that are written in these type of books.

If you asked me to read a book about Law of attraction on the beggining of 2019, that is just a year and half ago, I would had laugh and not understand a single word that was there. Or even said that it was all a bullshit. But between January and June something changed in me, maybe was a little bit of influence of @tamara that I like to follow on youtube and instagram, but I bought my first book about Law of attraction.

The first book that I read was “The Secret”. Of course it had to be this one. I think it’s the most well known of all motivation books. I read it on June of 2019, precisely a year ago when I was on vacation on Cotê D´Azur.

I’m not going to say that is the easiest book to read, no. But it’s also not a book to just read what is there, it’s more to understand the meaning behind the words and the examples. It’s for you to learn what you need to do and put it in practice on your life.

Since I read the Secret, I have being trying to put some of the lessons in practice. It’s not easy at the beginning and you are going to fail and think that it’s not working. But believe in me, consistency and determination bring you good things, and I already saw some results.

Since then I already bought three new books and have in my favorites (on http://www.wook.pt) some more.

The second to read is from James Allen and it’s called “As a Man Thinketh“. In this book you learn more the theory of what you are what you think, and if you think to yourself that is exactly right.

“The body is the servant of the mind. It obeys the operations of the mind, whether they be deliberately chosen or automatically expressed.”

Man’s mind may be likened to a garden, which may be intelligently cultivated or allowed to run wild.”

Made you think, right?

The third book is also a well known, it’s the “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.

Did you ever wanted to know how some people get their success?! In this book you will will find out the principles behind the success of that people and learn the tools to know in what you are good, define your goals and achieve it. This book has been helping millions of people since 1937 and it’s still so update and modern. You will learn that if you desire something, you need to have faith that you are going to achieve it and be consistent on working for it. It will change your world.

“You are the master of your destiny. You can influence, direct and control your own environment. You can make your life what you want it to be.”

“If you can’t do great things, do small things in a great way.”

The last book in my little collection but that I want to talk about is “Smarter, Faster, Better: The secrets of being productive” from Charles Duhigg.

This book it’s for who wants to be more productive in the professional world, but also with their thoughts. I’m still working on this book, and still figuring out how to apply in my life and how I can use it to help being more motivated and productive in the my work and also in this blog, just thinking on the professional areas. After knowing how to use in that way, it will become easier to insert in the personal life.

For what I already could see, it will help you giving the tools to be motivated, on knowing what is the main focus of that motivation and of your work and helping you making faster decisions. Also helps if you are managing a team, knowing how to be better in this situation and keep your team motivated and happy.

”When people believe they are in control, they tend to work harder and push themselves more. They are, on average, more confident and overcome setbacks faster.”

“Teams succeed when everyone feels like they can speak up and when members show they are sensitive to how one another feels. You need the right norms to make arguments productive rather than destructive. Otherwise, a team never becomes stronger.”

I have in my list other books, like:

  • The one thing – many people say that this is the one in terms of Law of Attraction and keep it closer to read everyday some excerpts, so I’m really interest and curious.
  • Outliers
  • Give and take

Do you like to read this type of books? Give me more suggestions of what I can read, I would love to know your opinion.
