Travel Beauty List: What to leave and what to take with you

Hello beauties,

With summer vacation season in full swing, it can be a bummer to spend every weekend decking on what to take with you, only to find out everything you brought was already provided. To help you and make this task easier, we wrote a list of the items you should find in every hotel or AirBnB, and the ones you definitely need to pack with you.

Comment down below if you want to see the products I took with me on my last trip.

Hair Dryer : Leave it or Take it?

BaByLiss Hair Dryer available at Lookfantastic

This product takes a lot of space in the bag, and there’s the risk of the plug not working in the country you are going to. Nowadays every hotel has a hair dryer, true that it may not be as good as yours, but with a little luck your hair will end with some wild strands that will scream ‘vacation mode activated’.

Final decision: Leave it!

Brush : Leave it or Take it?

Brushworks available at Beautybay

You should always take your own brush, it is more hygienic and Unless you are going on vacation at a family member’s house, the chance that the hotel will have a brush at your disposal is practically zero. If you want to give some glow to your hair, grab a rounded brush and try to work it with the hotel blow dryer. You’ll sweat but it can work magic.

Final decision: Take it!

Shampoo: Leave it or Take it?

Olaplex n.4 Shampoo available at Loja do Shampoo

Unless your hair has specific needs, you don’t have to take shampoo with you. Shampoo is a product that is always provided in a hotel. If you really need to take it with you, take it in a small container.

Final decision: Leave it!

Conditioner/Hair Mask: Leave it or Take it?

Coco & Eve Sweet Repair Hair Mask available here

Shampoo may be something that a hotel provides but the story is another when it comes to conditioner. And this is something that every hair needs, even more when you are exposed to the sun/sea water/ pool water. You will want to take your favorite conditioner or hair mask with you. Even if the hotel provides you a small container of conditioner, remember that if you have long hair it will be spent in a minute.

Final decision: Take it!

Hair serum: Leave it or Take it?

OUAI Leave in Conditioner available at Sephora

When we say hair serum, it also can be a final styling product. If your hair does not always cooperate with you, this is a product that is really needed in your bag. If you are going to dinner at a special place or even if you are going to expose your hair to the air dryer, remember that you need some kind of protection. So prefer products that work as a leave-in with thermal protection, they will protect while providing some discipline to the most wild hair.

Final decision: Take it!

Body wash: Leave it or Take it?

Byredo Shower Gel available at Net-a-Porter

Just like shampoo, body wash is always provided in hotels. Unless you have big allergies and only can use a special body wash, you don’t need to worry about this product.

Final decision: Leave it!

Body oil: Leave it or Take it?

Bali Body Shower Oil available here

Normally hotels provide a tin bottle of body lotion, but if not why not to take a 2-in-1? You can bring body oil that can be used to wash your body and moisturize it like no other body lotion! Or a body oil to use after the shower and that can also be used in the hair. It will add shine and glow to your hair!

Final decision: Take it!

I absolutely hate those wall mounted hotel hair dryers. There ok for men but not for me. I always pack mine

I understand you. I have really dry hair and I need a good hair dryer! (I also hate to feel my hair wet, even in summer). But there are some hotels that now have some good hair dryers 🙂

It so tricky when you travel to decide what to take or not. From all your list, conditioner is a must on holidays!

Agree! Conditioner or hair mask is something that is needed! Even more if you have dry hair like mine! I wish I was a low maintenance girl ahahah but I always need a conditioner and an oil or something to really hydrate the hair (even more in summer)!
