I tried NYX Fat Oil.. here’s my review

Hello beauties,

Last year, people from all over were buzzing with excitement about NYX Fat Oil, the Slick Click, and the Lip Drip. The beauty community was abuzz with discussions and reviews, especially on platforms like TikTok, where the Slick Click gained fame as a fantastic alternative to Tarte’s Maracuja Juicy Lip. When the LipDrip was released, it sent everyone into a frenzy, with beauty enthusiasts eager to try out the latest sensation.

This year, NYX introduced six new exciting shades for the Lip Drip. And TikTok again went crazy with reviews. Here in Portugal, we started receiving this line last month and I was really curious to see why all the buzz. I bought one of each and tested them for a week to give you my honest review.

Let’s analise each one separately….

Fat Oil Slick Click

“Lips on slick in just a click! Our pigmented balm in click up packaging that dispenses just the right amount of formula, all you gotta do is click it to slick it! Get a fat boost of fat care for your lips with this vegan formula powered with avocado, cloudberry and raspberry oils. This lightweight, buildable balmy formula provides 12hr hydration for all day ultra-comfortable wear and care!”

Available in 12 shades, I decided for the shade 03 No Filter Needed, a pink pearl nude. First I have to say that this is very pigmented! I was expecting less pigment, so it was a good surprise. This shade has a pearl sparkle that I really like in a lipstick. It works with the lights creating the illusion of fuller lips.

I like the packaging, it’s slick and it looks like a pen, easy to carry and to apply on the lips.

Saying this, I gotta admit I don’t feel pumped to use this product. I should be, but I’m not, and I don’t know why. I really wanted to love it. I think it’s because of the shade, or maybe because my lips feel too oily when I use it (probably both). It’s a decent product, but it just doesn’t do it for me.

Fat Oil Lip Drip

“Fat Oil has a high shine finish with comfortable wear and a non-sticky texture. Packed with FAT goodness to keep your lips dripping using cloudberry oil, raspberry oil and squalane.”

Available in 14 shades, I decided to buy the shade 02 Missed Call (I initially wanted shade 03 Supermodel but the store didn’t have it), a pink that looks more pink in the real than in the website.

The packaging is adorable, with a big applicator that they made seem unique but I’ve seen it in other lip oils (sorry!). Gotta admit though, theirs is really good. Sadly, nothing’s perfect, and if I push the applicator too hard, some product goes flying. I just need to be a bit more careful and apply less force.

The shade Missed Call caused me some concern, let me explain why. I don’t like it for the first two hours. It’s a Barbie pink, and although I don’t have anything against this shade, I don’t like to see it on me. But, after some time the pigment changes and the color turns a light pink that I absolutely adore! The formula is the same; when I apply it, I don’t love it, but after some time, it turns into something light that makes my lips look so juicy and not sticky at all. I feel them hydrated and beautiful. I really like this product, and I’m planning on buying more shades. I can see the appeal of it and why it created so much buzz. I also have to add that since I started using this product, my lips are very soft and I don’t feel the need to use a lip mask at night.
